David R. Lewis, DDS
Dr. David Lewis is originally from San Antonio, graduating from Clark High School and then Baylor University. At Baylor, he met his wife of 20 years, Kelly. After graduating from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas in 1990, Dr. Lewis joined the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Dental Corp. He and Kelly were stationed in Georgia for one year where he completed a General Practice Residency. This is an intense study in all the specialties of dentistry. Following their year in Georgia, they were stationed in Germany for three years. Their first child, Jennifer, now 17, was born there. After leaving the Army, they moved back to San Antonio and Dr. David joined his dad, Dr. Bob Lewis, in private practice. Five years later, they moved their practice to its present location on Fredericksburg Road. Since then, Dr. David has opened a satellite office on Sonterra Boulevard to accommodate the patients in that area of San Antonio.
Dr. David and Kelly also have two boys which round out the Lewis household, Jacob (15) and Kyle (11). All three children go to San Antonio Christian Schools.
Dr. David has had extensive training in Cosmetic Dentistry throughout his career. Enhancing a patient’s smile is his favorite thing to do. “It’s fun and can really change a person’s self-image and boost their confidence”, says Dr. David. Hence the practice’s mission statement, “We change your smile…You change the world”.
Dr. Lewis is a member of the ADA, TDA, and SADDS. He and his family are members of Wayside Chapel. Apart from God, his wife and practicing dentistry, Dr. David’s passions are hunting and the kids. If he’s not coaching one of the kid’s teams, he’s probably hunting with one of them! So if you have a good story or photo, bring it in and share it with him!

Robert G. Lewis, DDS
Dr. Robert G. Lewis (Bob) was born and raised here in San Antonio. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School in 1954. After attending San Antonio College, Dr. Bob pursued his dental degree at The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, graduating in 1961. After two years in at the U.S. Army Dental Corps at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Dr. Bob set up his General Dental Practice in San Antonio, Texas in 1963. Dr. Bob has three grown children: Dee Dee Stewart who is married to Kerry, David Lewis married to Kelly, and Brian Lewis married to Kim. Dr. Bob rejoices that he has been blessed with nine grandchildren! All of his family enjoys outdoor activities such as golfing and fishing.
Throughout the years, Dr. Bob has enjoyed studying the many aspects of dentistry. Continuing education has contributed to his insights in Occlusion, TMJ and TMD, Endodontics, Restorative Dentistry, Cosmetics and Orthodontics. He attended one of the first Invisalign courses offered to general dentists in order to be able to offer this service to his patients so that they may have the opportunity to have their smile enhanced without traditional braces.
Dr. Bob is a member of the San Antonio District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association (Life Membership), the American Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society and the Southwest Prosthetic Society of which he was President in 2009.
